Ronde

Portfolio review

Every other week, go through the projects one by one: health, what moved, next milestones and risks, with the projects in trouble first.

  • Every other week, 60 min
  • 2 min to speak, each

Free. Your first meeting starts from this template, and everything stays editable.

Who it’s for

Portfolio offices, management teams and PMOs following several projects, with the people who work on each one.

Why this format

  • One turn per projectThe people working on a project speak about it together, instead of each repeating the same news.
  • Troubled projects firstProjects are ordered by health, so the time goes where help is needed.
  • A portfolio that stays currentEach turn updates the project's sheet: health, message and milestones are up to date for everyone.

What everyone prepares

Before the meeting, each person fills in their check-in in a few minutes, from a computer or a phone. Here is one, as it looks in Ronde.

How a session runs

  1. IntroEveryone joins, in the room or on the call: the screen shows who is here and what is on the agenda.
  2. Project roundOne turn per project: the people working on it give its health, progress and next milestones together.
  3. Open topicsThe subjects raised along the way, with the decisions taken and the follow-up actions.
  4. Wrap-upThe minutes are ready: decisions, actions and their owners, everyone’s check-in.

Ready with this template

Each meeting turns modules on or off as it likes; these come switched on.

  • Meeting usefulnessAt the wrap-up, everyone rates how useful the meeting was, from 1 to 5, anonymously; the average is tracked in the stats.
  • Reactions and signalsEmoji reactions and signals (too long, louder…) flying across every screen.
  • Raised hands and questionsRaise a hand or ask a question during a turn: a questions step follows that turn.
  • KudosThank a teammate during the meeting; kudos show on every screen and in the minutes.
  • TimeboxA topic of its own on the agenda, with its own duration and its notes in the minutes.
  • Decision logEvery “Decision:” line of the notes, from every session, in one searchable list open to the whole team.

Tips to run it well

  • Have each project set its health before the meeting: the order of the round is ready when you start.
  • Give the project round a time per project: ten projects in an hour is six minutes each.
