Ronde

One-on-one

A weekly half hour between a manager and a team member, prepared on both sides, with priorities and feedback that leave a trace.

  • Every week, 30 min
  • 10 min to speak, each

Free. Your first meeting starts from this template, and everything stays editable.

Who it’s for

Managers and the people they lead, mentors and mentees, or a tutor and a trainee who meet one to one.

Why this format

  • The person sets the agendaThe team member writes their wins, priorities and challenges: the conversation starts from their reality.
  • Feedback has its placeA free-text section invites feedback in both directions, so it doesn't wait for the annual review.
  • A history to look back onWeek after week, priorities and their outcomes build a record that makes reviews fair and easy.

What everyone prepares

Before the meeting, each person fills in their check-in in a few minutes, from a computer or a phone. Here is one, as it looks in Ronde.

Wins

  • Closed the Lyon deal after three months
  • Welcomed the new intern

Priorities

  • Finish the Q3 report
  • Prepare the client workshop
  • Book a negotiation course

Challenges

  • Too many interruptions to focus on the report

Feedback

The new reporting template saves me time. Could we keep Friday afternoons free of meetings?

How a session runs

  1. IntroEveryone joins, in the room or on the call: the screen shows who is here and what is on the agenda.
  2. Round table10 min eachEach person in turn shares their check-in, with a timer; the others raise a hand, react or say thanks.
  3. Open topicsThe subjects raised along the way, with the decisions taken and the follow-up actions.
  4. Wrap-upThe minutes are ready: decisions, actions and their owners, everyone’s check-in.

Ready with this template

Each meeting turns modules on or off as it likes; these come switched on.

  • TimeboxA topic of its own on the agenda, with its own duration and its notes in the minutes.
  • Decision logEvery “Decision:” line of the notes, from every session, in one searchable list open to the whole team.

Tips to run it well

  • Keep the same slot every week and move it rather than cancel it: regularity builds trust.
  • Once a month, look back at past priorities together: progress shows more clearly than from one week to the next.
